CHILD GUIDANCE CLINIC:


Goals and Objectives:

  • Maintain an outpatient mental and emotional health care facility for children between birth and 18 years of age.

  • Provide a multi-disciplinary approach e.g. appropriate psychological, emotional, educational, social and behavioural health care treatment services to children and their families

  • Help prevent mental and emotional disorders in children and their families

  • Advocate for children's behavioural health issues and concerns at the national level including raising the level of awareness of the community regarding the mental, behavioural and emotional health care needs of its children and families.

    • Services Provided:


  • Assessment, diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders. Primary assessment by a psychiatrist.

  • Psychological intervention.

  • Occupational therapy – anger management and social skills training.

  • Social work intervention

  • Educational development and career counselling (e.g. referral to skills training)
